Ellen Braun - Playwright & Performer

ABOUT

Ellen Braun is a Canadian songstress. Starting from her perch on a tree in the Glebe, she has established herself on the indie folk music scene as a solo act and with her band Trundled. She has a giant heart, and she’s not afraid to show it on stage and in her music.

Her song “Inchoate” cracked the top 100 in CBC’s 2018 Searchlight competition. In the Before Time, Ellen attended prestigious residencies in 2018 and 2019 at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, and joined a cohort of talented musicians at Canada’s Music Incubator artist entrepreneur program in 2019. She has recorded music for film, Chasing a Trace; released the pandemic singles “Okay” (recorded and produced by Howard Bilerman at the Banff Centre) and Forbidden Love; and released, with bandmate Joseph Shea, the first full-length Trundled album High Water, produced by Daniel Ledwell.

Ainsley Daumler - Stage Manager

Ainsley is a multidisciplinary artist who trained at Ambrose University’s Conservatory Acting program. She loves to tell stories. When she isn’t Stage Managing, she works as an actor, playwright, musician and is a proud member of the Alberta film industry (Permitee DGC). Paige Prystupa - Costume Designer

Paige Prystupa is a designer primarily working in costumes, set and video. She studied at the National Theatre School of Canada and recently was both a design assistant and designer at the Shaw Festival. Since moving back to her hometown of Calgary she’s been the costume designer of Storybook Theatre’s The Lightning Thief and the set and props designer of Calgary Opera's Stone Soup and Festive Favourites. 

Danelle White - Sound Designer

Danelle White is a Moh-kins-tsis (Calgary) based artist passionate about storytelling. She has worked as a Sound Designer for 7+ years and is entirely self-taught. While she holds a BFA in Drama from the School of Creative and Performing Arts at the University of Calgary- her degree is focused on Directing, Performance Creation and Acting. When Sound Designing Danelle follows the philosophy that silence is where the juiciest moments lie- “Theatre is silence interrupted”.to storytelling, and is a director, actor, sound designer and fight choreographer.  She is overwhelmed by the power of the entire team of Each and Every Song and hopes you enjoy the show. Her favourite Sound Designer credits are: The Silence (IGNITE! Festival), The Stand Up (Prairie Kitten Productions), Other Deaths of the Universe (Common Ground Festival), Candlelight (Common Ground Festival), Calling (7StarvingArtists) and Wedding Singer (Front Row Center).

Aldona Barutowicz - Publicist // Aldona B Creative

Aldona B has been a publicist for the past 14 years with a focus on theatre and entertainment. Her clients include the Calgary International Film Festival, the Calgary Black Film Festival, Downstage, Hit & Myth Productions, StoryBook Theatre, to name a few. Her work also includes assisting fellow entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and help them to identify their unique voice. Through Aldona B Creative she offers communications, photography and fashion styling services. Aldona is also on the Board of Directors with the Calgary Allied Arts Foundation, a not-for-profit organization focusing on supporting visual artists in Calgary. Constantly striving to enhance our communities and city’s profile, it is her infectious passion for her work - and clients - that set her apart.

 

Shelby Reinitz - Director

Shelby is an award-winning director, actor and playwright practicing in Mohkinstis (also known as Calgary). In her spare time, she also works as a film Production Coordinator. Shelby has been grateful to work with companies such as DIY Theatre, Theatre Calgary, Alberta Theatre Projects, Sage Theatre, StoryBook Theatre and (soon!) The Shakespeare Company. She would like to thank the amazing people and animals in her life who continuously support her cinematic and theatrical adventures. You know who you are.

Cayley Wreggitt - Co-Director & Dramaturg

Cayley Wreggitt is a playwright, dramaturg and director based in Calgary (Mohkinstsis). She graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in drama. She has worked with several theatre companies in Calgary including Alberta Theatre Projects, Vertigo Theatre and most recently she made her professional debut with the well-received Home for the Holidays at Lunchbox Theatre. She has self-produced several of her plays including Taylor’s Version (The Common Clown Festival), The Stand Up (The Kelowna Fringe Festival), and Candlelight (The Common Ground Festival).  Cayley is thrilled to be working with DIY to bring Ellen’s beautiful songs and her story to the stage.

Julia Kim - Set Designer

Julia Kim is a set, costume, and projection designer, who is new to Calgary. She graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University with a BFA (Hons.) in Performance Production in 2015. She’s been working mostly in Southern Ontario, designing for independent theatre and dance productions, and working as an assistant designer at Stratford Festival and Shaw Festival. Tauran Wood - Lighting Designer

Tauran is a disabled queer designer born and raised on Treaty 7 territory in Mohkinstis (Calgary). She loves working with technology to make art that is both engaging and thought-provoking. She also works as a technician with various companies across the city. In the (rare) moments when she isn't working on theatre, she fences foil, works on her 3d printer, and reads and re-reads all the books she can.

Siobhan Cooney - Artistic Associate/

Associate Producer

Siobhan Cooney is a multidimensional performer and independent producer for theatre and film. This is Siobhan's first Associate Producer role with DIY Theatre, a role that goes hand in hand with her title as Artistic Associate with DIY. Recently, Siobhan produced and starred in a new Canadian play for the 2022 Calgary Fringe: In Case of Fire by James Odin Wade. She sends her congratulations to the team of Each & Every Song and hopes audiences enjoy the performance!

Hayley Dechaine - PR Coordinator // Aldona B Creative

Hayley’s passion for writing, storytelling, and communicating in a way for others to enjoy, ultimately led her to the public relations program at Mount Royal University, where she is now in her fourth and final year. Hayley has been at Aldona B Creative since 2021, where she has been able to apply her skillset to her love of arts and entertainment.
